These chairs incorporate some of the stylistic designs associated with the Georgian architects Robert and James Adam. The architectural form combined with the carved rosettes, spiral carved arm stumps, and delicate stretcher turnings were elements popular with these desiginers. The finish is aniline dye and blonde shellac.
